Implementing a Privacy Policy for SMS Texting

Our SMS texting provider requires an accessible privacy policy to use their services. This policy must be visible on your website or included in client-facing documents such as engagement letters. When registering your SMS line, we will ask you to provide a copy of this privacy policy.

A privacy policy typically outlines how your organization collects, uses, stores, and protects your clients' data.

To help, we have attached two example privacy policies at the bottom of this article. These are intended as templates that you can adapt to suit your specific needs. Please note that Liscio Support cannot assist with implementing this into your website and cannot provide legal assistance in editing your privacy policy.

The required privacy policy must meet these requirements:

5.2.1 Maintain and Conspicuously Display a Clear, Easy-to-Understand Privacy Policy
Message Senders should maintain and conspicuously display a privacy policy that is
easily accessed by the Consumer (e.g., through clearly labeled links) and that clearly
describes how the Message Sender may collect, use, and share information from
Consumers. All applicable privacy policies should be referenced in and accessible
from the initial call-to-action. Message Senders also should ensure that their privacy
policy is consistent with applicable privacy law and that their treatment of information is
consistent with their privacy policy.
