What appears in the Primary Email inbox in Liscio?

Liscio displays your Primary (Gmail) and Focused (Outlook) tabs in the Primary Email inbox on the Email page. Since Gmail and Outlook already filter out unnecessary items, such as spam, those will not appear in Liscio. If an email lands in another tab, you can adjust your settings in Gmail or Outlook to move it into your Primary or Focused tab.

What emails are saved in Liscio, and which are not?

Liscio automatically saves any email associated with a client’s Contact and their related Accounts.

Emails not linked to a client’s Contact or Accounts will still appear on the Emails page, but they won’t be stored in Liscio unless you manually associate them with the correct Contact and Account.

Can everyone in my firm see all of my emails?

No. Emails are only visible to other firm users if they have been auto-matched to a client or if you manually associate them with a Contact or Account.

  • Your personal Email page is private; no one else can see it, and you cannot see theirs (even with the Log Me In As feature).

  • Emails tied to Restricted Accounts are only visible to those with access to those accounts.

Can clients see emails that have been added to their account?

No. Emails are visible only to firm users. Clients cannot see emails in Liscio. The integration simply improves internal visibility, helping your team coordinate and respond more efficiently.

What if the email is not from the client, but I still want it on their record?

You can manually associate it. Select “Add to Account” from the menu, and that message thread (including all future replies) will be linked to the client’s record.

Do I now have two inboxes to manage?

No. Everything stays synced between Gmail/Outlook and Liscio:

  • If you respond to or file an email in Gmail/Outlook, it won’t reappear on your Liscio Email page. Instead, it will move to Done in Liscio.

  • Deleted emails in Gmail/Outlook will also be removed from your Primary inbox in Liscio. However, if they were linked to a Contact/Account, they remain accessible under that Contact’s or Account’s Emails tab.

Can I create folders to organize my emails?

No folders are needed. Liscio automatically organizes emails by associating them with the correct Contact and Account.

Can I connect a shared email address or alias?

You can only connect the primary email tied to your Liscio account (your username). If your firm uses a shared email, you can create a dedicated Liscio user account for that shared address and enable email.

Can the same email address be connected to more than one Liscio account?

No. An email address can only be linked to a single Liscio Contact. However, that Contact can be associated with multiple Accounts, and their emails will sync across all linked Accounts.

Does this make email secure?

No. The integration only makes your existing email visible within Liscio—it does not enhance the security of email itself. For secure communication, we recommend using Liscio Messages.

What if an email with a virus enters Liscio?

Liscio has safeguards to ensure email-borne viruses cannot affect the platform. However, you should still follow best practices: keep systems updated, use antivirus software, and avoid opening suspicious attachments.

Can I use my email signatures in Liscio?

Yes, you can copy and paste signatures into outgoing emails. However, Liscio does not yet support automatic signature insertion.

What if a client emails us from multiple addresses?

You can add additional email addresses to a Contact’s profile. This way, emails from all listed addresses will sync automatically to the same Contact and related Accounts. Clients will still log in with their Primary Email, but your team will see communication from all their addresses.

What happens if a contact's primary email address is changed in Liscio?

All past emails remain linked to the Contact and Account. New emails from the updated address will automatically associate with the same Contact going forward.

How many emails are pulled into Liscio when connecting?

When you first connect your integration, Liscio imports the last 60 days of emails from your Gmail Primary or Outlook Focused inbox.

What happens to emails with rules and filters?

If an email is automatically moved by a rule or filter, Liscio will only bring it in if it comes from an address linked to a Liscio Contact.

What happens to emails received from an archived contact?

Emails from archived contacts will still auto-associate with that Contact. However, since archiving removes them from Accounts, the emails will not be associated with any of their former Accounts.

What happens if the email is disconnected and reconnected?

Any previously associated emails remain in Liscio and stay linked to their Contacts/Accounts. When reconnected, Liscio again imports the last 60 days of inbox emails.

What if my email is hosted by a third party?

If your email is hosted by a third party (e.g., GoDaddy) and then forwarded into Outlook or Gmail, Liscio cannot ingest those messages. The integration only works if your email is set up directly with Google or Microsoft.
