Smart Tax Delivery offers your tax clients a simple, effective, and guided way to review and sign their tax returns online or via mobile. It ensures IRS compliance while eliminating non-billable time spent coaching clients through signing, paying balances due, and reminding them of estimated payments.

Before printing tax returns, carefully go through the printing instructions to ensure successful processing.

Sending 1040 Returns with Smart Tax Delivery

Step 1: Drag & Drop

  • Go to the Smart Tax page.

  • Drag and drop your completed tax return PDF into the pink Smart Tax Delivery box (or click to browse for the file).

  • Optionally, select an Owner who will manage this request.

Step 2: Review & Send

  • After uploading, Liscio will automatically create a draft on the Requests page.

  • Preview

    • Balances Due - Highlights taxes due with vouchers and refunds.

    • Review - Splits Federal, State, and Estimated Payments for clients to review.

    • Sign - Prepares E-File pages with signature and date fields.

  • If both the Taxpayer and Spouse have Liscio accounts, they can each sign electronically.

    • Optionally, select a second signer who can sign directly on the same device.

  • Decide if identity verification (KBA) is needed.

  • Set a due date for the client.

  • Click Send to deliver the Request to your client(s).

Step 3: Monitor for Completion

  • Track the progress of the tax return request under Open Requests by checking the Progress Bar.

  • Once the client approves and signs the tax return, the signed forms accessible within the request, on the Liscio Files Page (Vault) and in the client's Files tab.

  • After receiving the E-File forms, click Mark Complete.
