Tax Organizers: Troubleshooting Organizers That Didn't Process
Using Requests, firms can send Smart Tax Organizers, customized from their tax vendor's organizer, directly to their clients through Liscio. Instead of directing clients to an external site or program to complete the organizer, they can conveniently answer those critical questions within the same platform they use to communicate with your firm. Even better, Liscio simplifies the process by condensing the organizer based on the client's previous year's information, creating a personalized and streamlined organizer for each client.
As you import organizers into Liscio, be sure to carefully read the printing instructions below to ensure successful processing:

If an organizer doesn't process after following the instructions, here are possible reasons:
Troubleshooting: Why did the Organizer not process?
- Printed with PDF Print Driver: Organizers printed using a PDF print driver will not process correctly. This is because printing through a PDF print driver removes the ability to extract text from the document.
- Organizer may be Password Protected: Please export organizers without any password protection.
- Page Limit for Pre-Organizer Content: The pages preceding the first page of the organizer (e.g., client demographic/personal information page) should not exceed 25 pages. This includes the cover letter, inserts (such as questionnaires), and engagement letters.
- PDF is a compressed/zipped: Check the file details in your File Explorer/Finder. If compressed, decompress and attempt again with the new PDF.
- Organizer was imported in the wrong window: Ensure you upload in the correct window. There are specific import windows for tax organizers and tax returns.
Drop tax organizers in the blue box on the left of the import screen that says "Tax Organizers".
