Liscio's GruntWorx integration streamlines tax document processing by allowing you to collect client documents for their tax return in Liscio, then seamlessly export them to GruntWorx for automated processing. This integration eliminates manual data entry and ensures all client files are organized and ready for tax preparation.

Setting Up the GruntWorx Integration

Prerequisites:

  • Admin access to your Liscio firm account

  • Active GruntWorx account with API access

  • GruntWorx API Key (found in your GruntWorx account settings)

  • Client IDs must match exactly between Liscio and GruntWorx for proper file routing

Connect GruntWorx to Liscio

  1. In Liscio, select the ellipses (โ‹ฎ) from the vertical menu on the left-hand side

  2. Select Admin from the dropdown menu

  3. Navigate to Integrations

  4. Locate GruntWorx in the integrations list and select Connect to GruntWorx

  5. You'll be prompted to enter your GruntWorx API Key

Getting Your GruntWorx API Key

  1. Log in to your GruntWorx account

  2. Navigate to Settings

  3. Select the Connect tab

  4. Copy the API Key displayed

  5. Return to Liscio and paste the API Key into the integration setup

  6. Select Connect to complete the integration

Note: Only firm administrators can set up integrations. Once connected, all firm users will be able to export client data to GruntWorx.

How to Use the GruntWorx Integration

Step 1: Client Document Collection in Liscio

Client Side:

  • Clients access their Liscio portal to complete their Smart Tax Organizer

  • Clients upload supporting documents (1099s, W-2s, receipts, etc.) directly in Liscio

  • All client activity is tracked and visible to the firm in real-time

Firm Side:

  • Monitor client progress through the Liscio dashboard

  • View uploaded documents and completed questionnaire responses

  • Verify all necessary documents are collected before export

Step 2: Export to GruntWorx

  1. Navigate to the client's Smart Tax Organizer Request in Liscio

  2. Review the collected documents and responses

  3. When ready to process, select the ellipses to Export to GruntWorx

  4. Liscio will process and transfer the supported client files to GruntWorx

  5. A confirmation message will appear when the export is complete

Step 3: Processing in GruntWorx

  1. Open your GruntWorx account

  2. All uploaded documents will be available in the Liscio tab within the client's folder

  3. Review documents and remove any files you don't want to process

  4. Move desired files from the Liscio tab to the Client tab for processing

  5. Select your desired processing features and click Submit

Note: If a client already exists in GruntWorx with the same Client ID, the system will move the files to the existing client record rather than creating a duplicate. Client IDs must match exactly between Liscio and GruntWorx for proper file routing.
