Written by Liscio Support
Updated over a week ago

Liscio allows you to annotate PDF files directly in the platform. Annotations are helpful for reviewing documents, highlighting information, or adding notes during internal review.

How to Annotate a File

When you open a PDF in Liscio, the file viewer includes a toolbar with several tools for reviewing and annotating documents.

Annotation Tools

You can mark up the document using the following tools:

Comment Tool
Add a comment or note to the document.

Text Tool
Insert typed text anywhere on the page.

Drawing Tool
Freehand draw directly on the document.

Shape Tool
Add shapes such as lines or arrows to highlight areas.

Image Tool
Insert an image onto the document if needed.

Additional Viewer Features

The viewer also includes tools for:

  • Search – Find specific words within the document

  • Print – Print the file

  • Download – Save the document (including annotations) to your device

Saving Your Annotated File

Annotations added in the Liscio viewer do not permanently change the original file stored in Liscio.

If you want to keep an annotated version of the file:

  1. Add your annotations to the PDF.

  2. Click Download.

  3. Save the PDF to your computer.

The downloaded file will include all annotations you added.
